Jhonathan Alexander Arias Gomez
Tanz
At the age of ten, this young dancer Jhonathan Alexander Arias Gomez began an intense dance programme at the Fundanza training Center in Armenia, Colombia. This programme consisted of: Folklore, ballet, contemporary and jazz. Very quickly, Jhonathan realised that movement was the most natural way of expressing himself and this feeling immediately sparked a motivation to become a professional artist so he could share his thoughts and feelings with the world.
After receiving a strong foundation of various techniques, he moved to Spain to further his education at the Madrid Dance Center where he graduated as a professional dancer. Upon completion of his diploma, he decided to stay in Madrid where he began working as a Musical Theater dancer. Shortly after, he set sails (literally) and left Madrid to join a team of cruise ship performers. After broadening his artistic horizons and traveling the world, Jhonathan began working with Staatstheater Cottbus, Germany as a guest and after years become a member of the company as a dancer, where he also received the opportunity to choreograph one of his first works.
After a fifteen years long career, he has the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers such as: Nils Christe, Birgit Scherzer, Giorgio Mancini, Mauro De Candia and Adriana Mortelliti.
Although he remains open for job opportunities as a dancer, Jhonathan is now narrowing his focus towards teaching and choreographing for various projects.
